Hello gamers,


I'm going to be keeping notes here on all my work, and its completion status. Keep in mind I have a job, and a few side projects, and I'm a gamer, so these things may come along slowly at times and very quickly at others.

If anyone has development experience and would like to help with small subproblems, let me know.

So here's a big list. I will periodically update this list as things get done. There's a few features I'm working on which aren't included here, either because adding them would be a chore relative to the substance of the changes, and also because there are things which simply can't be known until the day they're released because of the merchers.

2 March Updates - Item pile & CoX leaderboard fixes

Today we release two rather small but important bugfixes:
  • A bug has been fixed where piles of items that are dropped on the floor may become invisible if the amount is a multiple of 256.
  • The Chambers of Xeric leaderboards has been greatly improved so it no longer loads really slowly.

Zamorak GWD - Community PvM event

Welcome back to the latest community bossing event. This weekend we will be waging war against the forces of Zamorak lead by K'ril Tsutsaroth. K'ril Tsutsaroth can be found in the God Wars Dungeon. Throughout this event all players will be able to use the ::event command to teleport into the Zamorak Fortress, directly outside of K'ril Tsutsaroth's chamber.

This event features 3 major perks:
  • +20% drop rates
  • Double Pet drop rate
  • No killcount requirement

Combat Achievements Beta

Hello everyone,


We're looking to get some thorough testing done on the Combat Achievements. You can find the achievements list by going to your quest tab in game and clicking the "Combat Achievements" button. The rewards aren't implemented yet, and they're meant to be a secret which you can all enjoy on release.

We have copied everyone's accounts over to the test server a few hours ago. Your progression on the test server has no effect on your production account.

All accounts on test servers have elevated permissions. Feel free to spawn and use items like the 'perfect' necklace and blade of destruction and go explore the game :)

Some useful commands on the testserver:

::item <itemid> <amount> (spawn items with id itemid), or ::i as shorthand. Check our items list to get the ID's of items, or use the ::item command with (part of) an item name as argument to find ID's. For example '::item cannon' (or '::i cannon') will list all items with their ID that have 'cannon' in the name
Note that the items from OSRS that we don't have available on PkHonor yet (such as the twisted bow) don't work properly yet. So no need to report bugs related to items that can only be obtained by spawning.

Note:
You can do ::resetca to reset all your achievements, or ::resetca <id> to reset a single achievement. The IDs are listed on the interface on test servers. Logging out will reset all your achievements.



If you have suggestions or bug reports related to the changes, please post them on this thread. We are hoping to get some insight on the achievement difficulties, possibilities for more achievements to be added, rewards, etc. Feel free to offer any thoughts you have at all.

Nex work in progress and boss instances

Lately, I have been working on Nex, most importantly putting it in the ancient prison like in OSRS and giving it a number of new drops, including the zaryte bracelet, nihil horn (to create the zaryte crossbow) and of course the Nexling pet.

Progress has been slow but steady. The ancient prison has been fully added with all its minions to obtain the killcount. The minions have their characteristics and special attacks. Large chunks of code for the Last Journey quest have been rewritten so the last part of the quest takes place in the new ancient prison rather than the old area. So far, so good.

The Nex room itself turned out to be more complex to work out. Nex currently has two public instances (one for regular players and one for morphed players) and two different "private" instances for ironmen and players who are completing the Last Journey quest.
However, we want to rework Nex to work just like the Nightmare, where there is just one public instance for both regular and ironman players and having its hitpoints scale according to the amount of players, while also keeping the private instance for the quest. This requires a rewriting of how the Nex instances work.

Rather than trying to incorporate the new instances into the existing game code and into the outdated instance management, I decided to write up a whole new boss instance management from scratch. Working out a new instance management has been a major item on my to-do list for the better part of the past year, but I never quite managed to work out all of the complexities of instances that take place behind the scenes.

Today, I finally managed to finish my work on a new instance management system. Not only for Nex, but potentially also for the Nightmare and other bosses. It has been quite a challenge, but I believe we now have a proper base to work with so that additional (and hopefully bug-free) instances and paid instances for several bosses can finally turn out to be a reality in the near future.
