Clan Expansion
So, welcome to a new update! Hopefully everyone is doing well and staying healthy during these times.
This time around, we have focused on bringing you a bunch of clan-related changes and of course a ton of QoL improvements!
So, as always, grab yourself a snack and explore what today's update has to offer!
Clan Chats
For this update we wanted to focus on a crucial part of PkHonor:
the clans.
A lot of players are heavily involved in participating in their clan, and they are a driving force within our community.
We figured that we should honor that and focus on improving the Clan Chat system!
A bunch of new settings and integrations were added to the clan system, aiming to improve the experience for clan members and leaders.
First and foremost, we recognize that many players are not familiar with the forums, and do not know which clans exist nor how to join one.
We want to move towards integrating some forum-elements into the game itself. So that's what we did!
If you are currently not in a Clan, the Clan Chat tab will now shows an overview of 'Popular Clans':
A clan shows up on the list when the Clan owner has the 'Show clan on Popular Clans' option enabled. This option is Donator+ only.
Each of the Clans on the overview can have several statusses:
- 'Open' means that the 'Who can enter chat' option is set to 'Anyone', allowing anyone to join the CC.
- 'Member' means that the 'Who can enter chat' option is NOT set to 'Anyone', but you have the required rank within the Clan to join.
- 'Apply' means that the 'Who can enter chat' option is NOT set to 'Anyone', and a Clan Chat Forums thread is linked to the Clan. When clicking these clans, you will be prompted to apply to this clan and will be forwarded to the forum page.
- 'Private' means that 'Who can enter chat' option is NOT set to 'Anyone', and NO Forums thread is linked to the Clan. You cannot apply to these Clans.
Discord Invitation Link
In the past years, we have the rising popularity of Discord as a Clan's preferred communication platform.
Most of the clan-related discussions are held there, announcing events, discussing drama and just chilling on VC.
We want to facilitate access to these Discord channels and have added a 'Discord Invitation Link' button that can be used by the specified ranks.
This will hopefully make it easier to get access to the Clan's Discord channel!
As most of you know we have a rule about what kind of websites can be advertised on PkHonor. For example: linking to a forum that distributes bot scripts or organises RWT transactions would not be allowed. This rule also applies to Discord channel links. However, because these links can be made accessible only to select players, we would like to clarify a few things:
- Staff members do not have the ability to enter a clan's Discord channel uninvited. We have no desire to intrude on a clan's private sphere.
- Our commitment not to extend our rules to Discord remains unchanged: no one will be held accountable for what they do or say in a clan's Discord channel.
That being said, if it turns out that a clan's Discord channel is being used to organise rule-breaking, we hope you can understand that we do not want a link to it in the game. Therefore if we receive a credible report that this is the case we will act on it. If the channel in question has at least one staff member in it we will be able to verify the evidence presented in the report. On the other hand, if the clan does not wish to have any staff members in their Discord channel (as is their right), we will have no choice but to rely on whatever screenshot evidence is provided to us.
If a report is deemed valid the only consequence would be the removal of the Discord link. We remain determined that nothing said or done on Discord should result in punishment on PkHonor. A Discord link would not be removed solely because two people in the channel are talking about rule-breaking, only if the channel is actively being used to incite or organise it.
Because we are aware that Discord screenshots are easily forged, the decision has been made to introduce a new and long-overdue rule:
providing fake evidence in a report is now considered an offence and will result in both in-game punishment as well as losing your right to make reports. This change is intended to protect clans who don't want any staff in their Discord from being harassed in this way. This is meant to safeguard the privacy of clans without simultaneously allowing channels best described as "Botting Central" or "RWT'ers Paradise" to have their links advertised in the game with impunity. Should you choose to run a Discord channel like that we kindly ask that you do not put a link to it in the game.
Loot & Kill Notifications
Outside of the community-aspect of Clans, PvP and PvM are central to Clan activity.
We wanted to add some exciting new notifications whenever a Clan member gets a valuable PvM drop or gets a valuable PvP kill, to capture and spread the hype.
The threshold can be changed to notify the Clan members of lower/higher drops (to regulate spam).
Announcements
Going to have a big bossing event this Thursday? Planning to delve into the Wilderness with the entire clan this Saturday?
Announcements are here to help. Announcements can be set up to broadcast a message within the clan every few minutes.
Use these to announce events, mention rules or remind members of other things.
The announcements can be modified by using //announce <message>, or just //announce to stop the current announcement from broadcasting. The clan's owner can adjust the announcement interval to 2, 5, 10, 20 or 60 minutes.
Additional Clan Changes
- You can now use the //thread command to broadcast the ::thread id to the other members.
- Attempting to join a clan with a forums thread linked will now prompt the user to apply to this clan, and link them to the corresponding post.
- A lootshare chat icon was added to lootshare messages, making it easier to distinguish.
- Messages sent from players on your ignore list will now no longer show up inside the Clan Chat.
- The Clan Chat tab has been visually remastered.
Theatre Addict
The 'Theatre Addict' slayer perk has been added for 1,850 slayer points, and is unlockable at any of the slayer masters.
To unlock this perk, you must have completed the Theatre of Blood at least 20 times.
While this perk is activated, Verzik Vitur can be an assigned monster from the Elite slayer master.
The points and experience is rewarded upon completing Verzik Vitur's room in the Theatre of Blood, even if you died during the fight.
Locking Combat Experience
We have heard several complains about the lacking ability of being able to lock the remaining combat stats (hitpoints, ranged, magic and strength).
So we revisited this piece of content to further expand upon it and make it more accessible!
You can still use the existing commands (::lockdef and ::lockatt), but you can now also right-click the skills in your skill tab to change the lock settings:
Aside from this new menu, the skills in your tab will also show an orange color and information when the skill has been locked.
We also extended this functionality to the Morph realm, where it will indicate the reduced stats for non-Morphed players.
Hopefully this will make it more clear when a skill is locked and when skills are reduced!
Momma Sheep
Fred the Farmer, from the Lumbridge sheep pen, has made a mistake. A big one actually.
He found out about a spell which could be used to enhance his sheep, so he used it on the mother sheep to increase his wool production.
Little did he know that this sheep would turn against him!
Fred managed to capture the sheep inside a magical dimension, but it's trying to escape.
He requires an experienced adventurer that is able to defeat the beast.
Bring Fred the Momma Sheep's bones and he will surely award you for your heroic efforts.
The Momma Sheep is able to attack with each of the combat styles, so come prepared! It's
not an easy fight for sure.
Ranged Equipment
As many of you have seen, we are quickly nearing the finish line of
the Chambers of Xeric.
Ranged is an integral part of the Chambers of Xeric, where a lot of the rooms have a ranged component.
Keep in mind that these modifications are subject to change, but will likely remain this way until after the CoX release.
We will be monitoring the result of these changes closely, and do not shy away from revisiting these changes when the time comes.
Toxic Blowpipe
Following
OSRS change to the Toxic Blowpipe we have modified the equipment bonusses to accurately reflect OSRS, meaning the following changes are now in effect:
Old School RuneScape wrote:
The Toxic Blowpipe accuracy has been reduced to +30 (from +60).
The Toxic Blowpipe strength has been reduced to +20 (from +40).
The special attack now gives +100% bonus accuracy, in addition to its +50% bonus damage.
The Ranged strengths of Darts used with the Blowpipe have changed as follows (and apply to all variants):
- Bronze to +1 (unchanged)
- Iron to +2 (from +3)
- Steel to +3 (from +4)
- Black to +6 (unchanged)
- Mithril to +9 (from +7)
- Adamant to +17 (from +10)
- Rune to +26 (from +14)
- Dragon to +35 (from +20)
The accuracy of all darts has been reduced to +0.
We choose to follow OSRS' example, since it both promotes the use of higher tier darts, properly balances the Toxic Blowpipe's use and provides an expectable experience for new players that are used to OSRS.
Amulet of Ranging
The Amulet of Ranging, obtained from the Brimstone Chest, has been modified.
The stats did not reflect its easy accessibility, and the amulet heavily outperformed the Necklace of anguish in PvM.
The Amulet of Ranging's damage boost has been changed: instead of adding +15% to your ranged level in PvM, it now adds +5% Ranged strength in PvM (as shown in the equipment interface). This adds an interesting element: weapons with a higher strength (like the crossbow with bolts) work best with the Amulet of Ranging, while weapons with lower strength (like the blowpipe with darts) work best the Necklace of Anguish. This creates some much needed variety in amulet choice while using ranged!
Additionally, the magic and ranged defence bonus has been removed.
It now solely has the +5% ranged strength and +15 ranged attack bonus.
Quality of Life
- Examining items will now show their alch and street prices in the chatbox.
- The Stonemason at the Crafting Guild now also turns noted Gold bars into noted Gold leaves, for the same price as unnoted Gold bars.
- Venom is now disabled inside the Castle Wars minigame.
- Holding the CTRL key inside the bank will now change the left-click option to the Withdraw 10/Withdraw X option.
- The Farming teleport interface was changed to show all options on the interface, this makes it easier to navigate them without having to change pages. The 'Nevermind' option was removed.
- Added the Ale of the Gods reward to the master clue casket.
- The Mirrorshield is now purchasable for 240,000 gp from any of the Slayer masters.
- Added a left-click 'Unpack' option to packed item sets.
- You will now get a warning when you try to alch items worth more than 250M gp. You can change this threshold by right-clicking one of the alchemy spells, and choosing 'Warnings'.
- Using a bank preset will now call your pet directly next to you.
- Added the 'Inspect' option and a ::nightmare command to see how many players currently reside inside the Nightmare's dream instance.
- The ::clue command was added to quickly bring up the Clue Scroll guide on the Wiki.
- The ::clans command was added to quickly bring up the Clan section on the forums.
- All ranks now have access to the ::idtoggle command, instead of just Honors.
- The ::slayertask command was added for Honor accounts, adding the ability to freely set your assigned task, number of kills and slayer streak. This change will hopefully enable Honor players to fight Slayer-only bosses like the Alchemical Hydra, Cerberus and the Abyssal Sire.
- The Slayer guide, found by clicking the skill in the skill tab, now accurately shows all the tasks unlocked by leveling up your Slayer.
- The Herblore guide, found by clicking the skill in the skill tab, now has an additional line for each potion that shows what ingredients are required to produce the potion.
- Each of the Runecrafting altars now has a teleport back to the Abyss, making it easier to navigate to each of the altars once you have entered the Abyss.
- Each of the dart rewards from the Brimstone chest have been replaced by dart tips.
- The Donator credits (in its item form) now have a left-click option that shows more information on how to transform them into the stored points.
- The Theatre of Blood chest now rewards Weapon poison ++, instead of regular Weapon poison.
- The Castle Wars ticket price for Trickster boots have been altered to 600 tickets, matching the other boot variants.
- Combat dummies were added to Edgeville in the Honor world.
- A chat message will now be shown when the Godwars Dungeon altars are ready to be prayed at again. This will help to notify players and save them potions.
- For ironman players, the text above the ground items will now show the alchemy price, instead of the street value. This change was made because ironmen are not interacting with the economy.
- The color of the untradeable ground items has been updated to be distinct from extremely valuable drops.
- The Inquisitors mace now has its own unique animation, like in OSRS.
- You can now pet the cat and dog at the Pet Trader in Edgeville.
- You can no longer (accidentally) use teleport spells to leave the Inferno, you now need to use the ::home command.
- Renamed the 'Iorwerth Archer' to 'Elf Warrior'.
- Some new teleports were added to provide better accessibility, like the 'Zombie Minigame' and each of the Donator/Premium-only bosses. If you cannot access a teleport, it will be striped-through in the Teleport interface.
- Drops worth 250M and more will now locally (within 25-squares) be broadcasted to the players around you.
- Zulrah, Cerberus, Vorkath, Abyssal Sire, Alchemical Hydra and the Nightmare will now show the 'Fight duration' on death. You can use this to compete others or yourself! It is important to note that these are not stored/shown anywhere, so it's purely visual upon the kill.
- The right-click options within the chatbox have been improved, you can now right-click 'Add friend', 'Add ignore' and 'Message' players in a lot more channels. You can now use the right-click option to accept ::private invitations from other players!
- The dialogue system has been heavily expanded upon. This makes it significantly easier for us to develop Npc interactions, paving the way for creating holiday events (and maybe even quests) in the future. We have tested it thoroughly, but if you notice any broken dialogues; let us know!
- In-game events are now shown in the #events-feed in the Discord channel. Use this to keep up with the active events!
- It has snowed around PkHonor!
Bug fixes
- The Little Nightmare pet is now visible on the Nightmare's collection log page.
- The Primordial boots now require level 75 Strength to equip.
- You can now toggle the visibility of (gold) max hit splats. This was supposed to be implemented in the corresponding update, but was bugged.
